Neutral age screen and direct consumer use

A neutral date-of-birth screen determines whether the user is under 13 or 13 or older. The date itself is discarded; only the age group, method, policy version, and check time are retained. Direct consumer accounts identified as under 13 cannot use microphone recording or hybrid-exam media and are directed to a school-managed path.

Separately verified school-managed authorization

School metadata alone does not authorize collection. Before school-managed student data, audio, or hybrid media is enabled, MIDI Mind must separately record an active agreement, its effective and expiry dates, the authorized features, whether under-13 use is covered, delivery of the required notice, and an internal verification record. Under-13 media also requires a separate production enablement gate. Access fails closed if any required record or gate is absent, expired, pending, or does not cover the requested feature.

For school-authorized educational use, the school may provide COPPA consent in the educational context only to the extent permitted by law and the agreement. The school must give parents any required direct notice and a way to review the operator's practices. Parents retain the right to request review or deletion.

Child information and collection method

• Account, school, role, and access identifiers supplied by the school or identity provider.
• Practice answers, scores, progress, and teacher-visible educational records.
• Short microphone audio initiated by the student for sight-singing feedback.
• Hybrid-exam sight-singing recordings and photographed or uploaded written-response pages.
• Limited device, security, and service logs.

Audio and media are collected only after an affirmative user action and an on-screen one-speaker reminder. Participation is not conditioned on disclosing more information than reasonably necessary for the activity.

Use, disclosure, retention, and deletion

Child information is used only to deliver the educational service, security, support, school reporting, and required legal operations. It is not sold, used for targeted advertising, or used to train general-purpose AI models. Providers are listed on the Subprocessors page. Parent and school rights

A verified parent or school may review the child's information, request correction or export, revoke future collection authorization, or request deletion. Use Privacy Requests. MIDI Mind verifies the requester and school relationship before disclosing student records.
